Shelf Road Team Trip!
January 3-5, 2013
Join Team ABC at sunny Shelf Road for three days of fun limestone sport climbing.
Shelf Road has the best concentration of safely bolted sport routes in the state, from 5.easy to 5.12. This area is called the “Banana Belt” of Colorado. Often, when the rest of the state is chilly and covered in snow, Shelf Road is sunny and perfect for climbing.
We will be staying in a local hotel, eating at restaurants and having our breakfasts and lunches made by the yummy Coyote Café.
Cost: $400 per client
3 days of guiding climbing
Transportation to and from Shelf Road
Private room for 2 nights at a local hotel
Dinner at a restaurant both nights
Breakfast and lunch made at the Coyote Café both days

Goofy Explains Rock Climbing
If you ever want a little help explaining what your Team ABC’er does to a non-climbing family member, try using this video for visual aid.
Actually, try using this video to show them what your child won’t be doing. : )
Much of Elite Team ABC will be headed to Hueco tomorrow for our Thanksgiving trip! We are very excited for this trip and can’t wait to get down to the desert so the kids can try their projects! Here’s a photo from last year’s trip:
We’ll keep you posted, have a good holiday everyone!!!
He sent his first V13 only 9 months ago, and now ABC Elite Athlete Michael O’Rourke has done his first V14!
Today, November 11th, 2012, Michael finished off his short-term project when he sent Mirror Reality at Rocky Mountain National Park. Mirror is a Daniel Woods problem that has also been climbed by Jimmy Webb and Paul Robinson.
Nice Job Michael!

Tomorrow ABC Kids Boulder is proud to host an onsight format mock competition for members of Advanced Plus and Elite Team ABC and The Spot Comp Team. The goal is to expose the kids to an onsight format bouldering competition before they compete in ABS Regionals. This comp will be one round only, 3 problems per category + tiebreakers if necessary.
The comp is happening tomorrow, Friday, November 2nd, at ABC Kids Boulder. Everyone is already entered and the running order is below.
Climbing starts at 4 pm. All competitors need to check into iso at least 30 minutes before their climbing time, and we recommend 45 minutes to 1 hour to warm-up.
For parent volunteer judges, there will be a mandatory judges meeting at 3:30 pm at ABC. If you cannot make 3:30 and need to come in earlier in the day, Coach Robyn is willing to host a 2nd, earlier meeting, at 2pm–please email or call her if you would like her to hold the earlier meeting.
Here is the running order. Please direct all questions to Coach Robyn or Coach Garrett. See you at ABC!
